3 Exercise Trends to Watch for In 2014
Fitness trends change every year. Fad workouts like the ThighMaster or the Shake Weight come and go, but sometimes an exercise trend like Yoga or Pilates changes the entire landscape of personal fitness.

Here are three of the most celebrated, up-and-coming exercise trends to watch for in 2014:

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Want to burn a ton of calories quickly and with little to no gym equipment? HIIT involves switching between extremely intense physical activities and brief periods of rest. A full workout takes about 30 minutes and many of the exercises involved are familiar, such as jumping jacks, squats, or high knees. Flywheel

In recent years, spinning or indoor cycling classes have become hugely popular. Flywheel takes spinning to a whole new level. Like spinning, it’s an indoor cycling routine, but with a more intense atmosphere that enables participants to truly focus on the workout. Flywheel bikes also have weighted handlebars for the upper body and in one 45-minute class attendees can burn around 800 calories!

Group Personal Training

Working out with a personal trainer is a great way to stay motivated and focus on your personal goals. Group personal training takes this concept and makes it more affordable by opening up the session to two or three people at a time. Many trainers and fitness centers now offer small classes or group training sessions to clients who are looking to make serious advances in personal fitness, without breaking the bank.

What do you think? Will you try HIIT, Flywheel, or group personal training in 2014?
