MeMD Accredited by NCQA in Credentialing/Recredentialing, Indicating High-Quality Care and Service
MeMD earned a three-year Accreditation status from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) in Credentialing/Recredentialing. This is MeMD’s third consecutive Credentialing Accreditation since 2015. The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol for quality. Achieving NCQA Credentialing Accreditation demonstrates that MeMD has the systems,
process and personnel in place to conduct credentialing in accordance with the strictest quality standards.
Credentialing is an essential safety component of the healthcare system. Healthcare organizations must establish the qualifications of their licensed medical professionals by assessing their background and legitimacy to provide care.
NCQA’s Credentialing Accreditation focuses on consumer protection and customer service improvement. It provides a guideline for organizations to implement industry best practices to effectively and accurately credential and recredential healthcare professionals. For employees and consumers, NCQA’s Accreditation indicates an organization is well-managed and has a high standard for care and service.
An independent, not-for-profit organization, NCQA is dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of managed care plans, managed behavioral healthcare organizations, preferred provider organizations, new health plans, physician organizations, credentials verification organizations, disease management programs and other health-related programs. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors that includes employers, consumers, health plans, quality experts, policy makers and representatives from organized medicine.
NCQA’s mission is to improve the quality of healthcare. Consumers can easily access organization’s NCQA statuses and other information on healthcare quality on NCQA’s website or by calling NCQA Customer Support at (888) 275-7585.
